Researchers in Indonesian universities are being encouraged to incorporate gender and social inclusion perspectives in their applications for government research grants following the launch of the 12th edition of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education’s Grant Guidelines for Research and Community Engagement on March 20
KSI organised a knowledge-sharing seminar on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Perspectives in Research for Development, on the 7th of December 2016 at the Aryaduta Hotel, Jakarta.
During December, KSI organised three large events with different audiences highlighting the role of women in research and public policy: a knowledge sharing event on 7 December on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in Research for Development, a talk show on 21 December on Women in Public Policy, and an expert discussion on 22 December on Gender Research in Universities.
Strengthening gender and social inclusion in research and higher education will improve the quality of research and analysis. The program design of KSI seeks to mainstream gender into its overall work by integrating gender analysis into the production and use of research by the public sector, policy research institutes and civil society organisations.
KSI values the importance of incorporating Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) aspects into policy research communications.
