Preparatory work on the Science Symposium jointly hosted by the Australian Academy of Science and AIPI is progressing with the appointment of conveners to fill the science programme on 29-30 November: Health: Prof. David Cooper and Dr Herawati Sudoyo; Marine and Climate Change: Prof. Ove Hoegh-Guldberg and Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa; Agriculture: Dr Jim Peacock, Dr TJ Higgins and Assoc. Prof Fenny Dwivany. Events on 28 November and 1 December will be open for the public.
Since 2014, KSI has been supporting National Institute of Public Administration (LAN) to strengthen the capacity of policy analysts.
This 2-day seminar in Jakarta is a collaborative effort between KSI and LIPI which aims to present learnings and/or new-knowledge generated through the local knowledge grant initiative on the situation and roles of local knowledge in knowledge to policy process: the actors involved, mechanisms to influence policy, relationship/network used to influence policy, the ways they communicate their evidence, and other factors contributing to the effectiveness/difficulties in local knowledge to policy.
