“New Year, New Momentum” Entering in to the last 6 months of KSI Phase I, our focus in this period will be on consolidating work on the 6 barriers for a healthy knowledge sector and with a particular focus on building blocks to carry forward the momentum into the second phase. This includes a range of events to support counterparts in highlighting their achievements and in building further collaboration.
Starting the year of 2017, 16 Policy Research Institutes, partners of the Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI) gathered in Bogor on the 26-27 January to collaboratively analyse effective capacity development interventions as one of KSI’s major themes of work in Phase 1 and also to discuss progress of their activities under the core grants towards the end of Phase 1.
We close 2016 with the wonderful news that KSI will be extended for another 5 years. This creates new opportunities and challenges, as we continue to support Indonesia's knowledge sector providing evidence for stronger policies in Indonesia.
As part of a visit by the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) to Indonesia, KSI, in collaboration with the Vice President’s Office (Setwapres), the Indonesian Public Service Commission (KASN), DFAT’s Government Partnership Fund (GPF) and the Australian Embassy organised a knowledge-sharing event on public service reform in Indonesia.
The On Think Tanks Exchange is an initiative designed to support and learn from think tank’s collaborations. The papers we have published over the last few of months offer quite a lot to think about -but so does the process itself:
For the first half of the event, speaker Fred Carden, a senior research governance specialist at RTI International, shared his experience of building a knowledge sector within Indonesia through the recently launched Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI).
