This set of briefs summaries how policy units in four very different countries are embedded in government to evaluate policies and processes, drive social accountability, enhance performance management, and inform decision making with evidence.
In Colombia, SINERGIA, the monitoring and evaluation unit, has been instrumental in tracking the government’s policy performance and evaluating the implementation of key program across multiple sectors.
The briefs look at how the units were first established and how they have evolved - including leadership, funding, staffing and recruitment, knowledge sharing and communications. They also highlight how each country is trying to build a demand for evidence.
