Around the world, countries are working very hard to come up with proper and effective responses to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Governments must accelerate their decision-making process and act decisively to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and produce policies for socio-economic recovery of communities. Since the COVID-19 response requires a multidisciplinary approach, interdisciplinary research can be a bridge to ensure the participation of diverse interest groups and communities to produce the evidence base needed for more targeted policymaking.
