"Improving the impact of your research on policy: Suggestions, opportunities and challenges"
with
Louise Shaxson
Acting Head of Programme, Research and Policy in Development (RAPID)
Overseas Development Institute
hosted by
Rival Ahmad
KSI Technical Advisor
How can researchers increase the impact of their research on policy? How can they engage most effectively with policymakers? Researchers across the globe are interested in the answers to these questions. But while there is plenty of advice offered in blogs and editorials, it doesn’t always take into account the messy reality of policymaking, or the choices and tensions that researchers face when they engage with policymakers.
In this KSIxChange, the Overseas Development Institute’s Louise Shaxson will draw on her research and experience to discuss what she has learned about how researchers and practitioners engage with policymakers and the impact this has on policy. The discussion will explore the relevance of these ideas to Indonesia and the opportunities and challenges for those who want to use their research to inform policymaking in Indonesia.
