COVID-19 Consortium Social Panel

The COVID-19 Consortium Social Panel is a consortium consisting of deputies in LIPI's Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Indonesia, Gajah Mada University, Bogor Agriculture Institute, Bandung Institute of Technology, Institute of Statistics, Disaster Journalists, and U-Inspire.

The five main activities of the COVID-19 Consortium Social Panel include:

  1. Online survey and qualitative exploration of public perception related to aspects of information disclosure, homecoming wishes and regional quarantine
  2. Comparison of countries' policies related to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19
  3. Impact on the economy at the macro and micro level
  4. Social media analysis of COVID-19 risk perception
  5. Aspects of building a public health system related to health disasters

The results of the rapid assessment will be communicated to the COVID-19 Prevention Acceleration Task Force under the coordination of the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency. The following are the status of each activity topic. Information on this page will be updated regularly.

Target: Policy recommendation to develop the national health system in the context of a pandemic / epidemic disaster

Research Agenda:

  1. Financing health, pharmaceutical supply and medical devices (Coordinator: Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat, Universitas Indonesia)
  2. Human resources management in health disaster (Coordinator: Pusat Kesehatan dan Manajemen Kesehatan (PKMK), Universitas Gadjah Mada)
  3. Managing information, regulation, and governance (Coordinator: Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Gadjah Mada)
  4. Community Empowerment (Coordinator: Kedeputian Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial dan Kemanusiaan, LIPI)
  5. Knowledge management system (Coordinator: Pusat Dokumentasi dan Informasi Ilmiah, LIPI)

KSI Facilitation:

  1. KSI facilitates potential collaboration between LIPI and KSI partners including network from the university partners who have interest and capacity in the study of building a more resilient public health system.
  2. KSI facilitates PKMK UGM and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UGM to be the coordinator in the Health and Governance agenda. Other potential collaborations are being explored to be part of the consortium, such as Pusat Studi Hukum dan Kebijakan (PSHK), ELSAM, IRE, and SurveyMeter.
  3. KSI identifies the consortium's needs in building a knowledge management and repository system for COVID-19 research, including connecting with KSI partners and broader policy makers, i.e, Bappenas, COVID-19 Task Force, Kemenko PMK.
