This story of change presents the lessons learned and the efforts made by KSI together with knowledge actors in Indonesia, with a focus on research incentives and strengthening policy research institutions to improve the quality and relevance of knowledge production.
Strategic engagement with key actors has become an organisational strategy in the effort to increase the quality knowledge. The principles of relevance, sustainability, and inclusiveness, such as Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), have served as guidelines in delivering various types of approaches throughout this 10-year period.
KSI has succeeded in encouraging 16 policy research institutions (PRIs) to produce quality research, conduct effective advocacy, and establish stronger and strategic engagement with policymakers and stakeholders, thus enabling them to influence various public policies, both at national and subnational levels.
