KSI values the importance of incorporating Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) aspects into policy research communications. To ensure that KSI communications activities and products incorporate a GESI perspective, in October KSI, assisted by Indonesia’s gender expert Lies Marcoes, facilitated a half-day GESI training for communications practitioners.

Ten people who have been working with KSI, including consultants, advertising agency and PR practitioners, joined the training. It was the first GESI training for most of them. Many mentioned that this kind of training was useful and important as it opened their minds to the importance of incorporating GESI aspects in all communication materials, including press releases, info-graphics and advertisements.
