How is knowledge produced in the context of emerging society? What are the roles of institutions in knowledge production? How are knowledge and institution co-constituted? This seminar discusses the foundation of knowledge production in the developmental context. Using the Science and Technology Studies (STS) perspective, the seminar touches upon the institutional factors that define how knowledge is socially and politically constructed and disseminated throughout social fabrics. A post-triple helix approach is emphasized in examining multi-level interactions between heterogeneous actors in knowledge production. The seminar underlines the socio-political environment of the emerging society as the backdrop to the analysis of how knowledge production is integrated, or disintegrated, with policy-making.
