KSI Partners Meeting

The KSI Partners’ Meeting held on 19 January 2016 was the final element of the KSI Learning Weeks that ran from November 2015 to January 2016. Learning Weeks are held every six months and consist of a series of meetings (five in our case) in which the KSI team and its partners sit, discuss, and reflect on progress of the program, what is working and what is not working, and receive advice on how to make the program more effective.

This is the first time that a Partners’ Meeting has been held as part of Learning Weeks.

  1. Partners’ Meeting Objectives
What did we want to achieve at the Partners’ Meeting?
    1. To share information about, and celebrate some of the changes in the knowledge sector in Indonesia to which KSI has contributed so far
    2. To present KSI’s draft six-monthly report and gather feedback from KSI Senior Advisors and the participants at the Partners’ Meeting
    3. To provide an opportunity for partners to discuss and present their views about the progress and challenges of the program
    4. To further strengthen the KSI partnership with Government stakeholders, DFAT and the partners with whom we collaborate
    5. To highlight the importance of the role of and advice from the KSI Advisory Group
  2. Expected Deliverables
    1. A shared view about the changes in the knowledge sector in Indonesia to which KSI has contributed
    2. Consolidated feedback and comments from KSI stakeholders, KSI partners and the KSI Advisory Group as an input to the KSI six-monthly report
    3. Documentation of KSI partners’ views about KSI’s progress and challenges so far
    4. Statements of support of the mandate and the importance of KSI as an indicator of strengthened partnerships between KSI and its stakeholders
    5. Agreement that the role of KSI’s Advisory Group extends beyond supporting and advising the Research and Higher Education (RHE) team to involve all major work streams of KSI
  3. Approach
The Partners’ Meeting included three main sessions.
    1. Session 1 was dedicated to presentations of “Stories of Change” (SoC) by partners and a discussion about whether these can be used more systematically across the program. The SoC that were presented cover a range of KSI activities.
    2. Session 2 centered on the presentation of the KSI draft six-monthly report to the KSI Advisory Group as well as KSI partners and stakeholders. The advisors responded with their reflections about the program and about the development of the knowledge sector in Indonesia.
    3. Session 3 took place in the afternoon and involved group work in which partners could discuss and share their thoughts on the contribution of the program as well as their opinions on the program’s progress.
